Client Policies

  1. SCHEDULING - Lessons are 30 minutes once per week unless otherwise agreed upon.

  2. FEES - Lesson fees are billed monthly at the beginning of each month. Payments after the 1st of the month are subject to a 10% late penalty.

  3. RESCHEDULING - A 24 hour notice by phone or text is required to reschedule a missed lesson. Missed lessons will not be pro-rated for the month. Students need the consistency of regular lessons, so when one is missed, it is in their best interest to make up the lesson. If you will miss 4 weeks of lessons or more, your lesson time may be reserved upon return for a fee of 50% of the monthly lesson fee. Please make arrangements for this at least one week in advance.

  4. ATTENDANCE - Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Once per quarter there will be a fifth lesson in a month. The lesson will be taught free of charge with the understanding that up to once per quarter the instructor may use the banked lesson for time off.

  5. CANCELLATION - A one month notice is required for cancellation.

Student Policies

  1. LESSONS - Students should come to each lesson eager and ready to learn and open to create and make music.

  2. PRACTICE - Students must complete at least six days of practice each week.

    a. Beginning level students - a minimum of 30 minutes per day

    b. Intermediate level students - a minimum of 45 minutes per day

    c. Advanced level students - a minimum of 1 hour per day

  3. LISTENING - Successful music students have one consistent practice in common: they eagerly listen to music. The Republic of Song listening blog routinely suggests great music as a listening source. Sign up for regular listening updates!
