The Brass Band of Battle Creek is a unique musical ensemble with a rich history. Founded in 1933, the group has been a vital part of the music scene in Battle Creek, Michigan ever since. The band is renowned for their precise and passionate performances of classic and contemporary music. They are committed to preserving the traditional brass band sound that has been a part of the Battle Creek community for generations.

Wycliffe Gordon is an American jazz trombonist, composer, arranger, and educator. Born in Waynesboro, Georgia, he began his musical career at the age of four, playing the clarinet before switching to the trombone at age nine. Since then, he has become one of the most visible and prolific jazz musicians of his generation. He has performed with the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, and the Count Basie Orchestra. He has also collaborated with many renowned jazz musicians, including Wynton Marsalis, Dr. Billy Taylor, and Herbie Hancock.

In addition to his performance career, Gordon has become an educator, teaching classes at leading music schools such as the Juilliard School and the Manhattan School of Music, and giving clinics and master classes around the world. His compositions and arrangements have been performed by an array of artists, including the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, and the Count Basie Orchestra. His latest album is a collaboration with the United Nations Orchestra, which was released in 2015. He is a two-time Grammy Award nominee and the recipient of several awards, including the 2019 American Jazz Masters Award from the National Endowment for the Arts.
